Main Street Fairmont will host an Entrepreneur’s Café – an event that aims to provide micro funding awards to entrepreneurs at the local level. The program is designed to replicate successful micro-funding programs facilitated by the West Virginia economic and community development group, Vision Shared.

This luncheon event will be hosted in tandem with the Small Business Resource Summit.

During the event local entrepreneurs are invited to "pitch" their idea or project for funding. Attendees pay $15 (cash at the door) for a meal, an opportunity to hear small business development ideas and then vote on their favorite project. The winning entrepreneur receives the proceeds from the purchase of meals and a special cash award provided by Vision Shared for the event. The proceeds can total in excess of $1,000. The winning proposal will then move on to compete statewide for an additional $2,500 with Create West Virginia.
